46Chaupai

47Protect me O Lord! with Thine own Hands

48all the desires of my heart be fulfilled.

49Let my mind rest under Thy Feet

50Sustain me, considering me Thine own.377.

51Destroy, O Lord! all my enemies and

52protect me with Thine won Hands.

53May my family live in comfort

54and ease alongwith all my servants and disciples.378.

55Protect me O Lord! with Thine own Hands

56and destroy this day all my enemies

57May all the aspirations be fulfilled

58Let my thirst for Thy Name remain afresh.379.

59I may remember none else except Thee

60And obtain all the required boons from Thee

61Let my servants and disciples cross the world-ocean

62All my enemies be singled out and killed.380.

63Protect me O Lord! with Thine own Hands and

64relieve me form the fear of death

65May Thou ever Bestow Thy favours on my side

66Protect me O Lord! Thou, the Supreme Destroyer.381.

67Protect me, O Protector Lord!

68Most dear, the Protector of the Saints:

69Friend of poor and the Destroyer of the enemies

70Thou art the Master of the fourteen worlds.382.

71In due time Brahma appeared in physical form

72In due time Shiva incarnated

73In due time Vishnu manifested himself

74All this is the play of the Temporal Lord.383.

75The Temporal Lord, who created Shiva, the Yogi

76Who created Brahma, the Master of the Vedas

77The Temporal Lord who fashioned the entire world

78I salute the same Lord.384.

79The Temporal Lord, who created the whole world

80Who created gods, demons and yakshas

81He is the only one form the beginning to the end

82I consider Him only my Guru.385.

83I salute Him, non else, but Him

84Who has created Himself and His subject

85He bestows Divine virtues and happiness on His servants

86He destroys the enemies instantly.386.

87He knows the inner feelings of every heart

88He knows the anguish of both good and bad

89From the ant to the solid elephant

90He casts His Graceful glance on all and feels pleased.387.

91He is painful, when He sees His saints in grief

92He is happy, when His saints are happy.

93He knows the agony of everyone

94He knows the innermost secrets of every heart.388.

95When the Creator projected Himself,

96His creation manifested itself in innumerable forms

97When at any time He withdraws His creation,

98all the physical forms are merged in Him.389.

99All the bodies of living beings created in the world

100speak about Him according to their understanding

101But Thou, O Lord! live quite apart from everything

102this fact is know to the Vedas and the learned.390.

103The Lord is Formless, Sinless and shelterless:

104He is the Primal Power, without Blemish, without Beginning and Unborn

105The fool claims boastfully about the knowledge of His secrets,

106which even the Vedas do not know.391.

107The fool considers Him a stone,

108but the great fool does not know any secret

109He calls Shiva “The Eternal Lord",

110“but he does not know the secret of the Formless Lord.392.

111According to ones won intellect,

112one describes Thee differently

113The limits of Thy creation cannot be known

114and how the world was fashioned in the beginning?393.

115He hath only one unparalleled Form

116He manifests Himself as a poor man or a king at different places

117He created creatures from eggs, wombs and perspiration

118Then He created the vegetable kingdom.394.

119Somewhere He sits joyfully as a king

120Somewhere He contracts Himself as Shiva, the Yogi

121All His creation unfolds wonderful things

122He, the Primal Power, is from the beginning and Self-Existent.395.

123O Lord! keep me now under Thy protection

124Protect my disciples and destroy my enemies

125All the villains creations outrage

126and all the infidels be destroyed in the battlefield.396.

127O Supreme Destroyer! those who sought Thy refuge,

128their enemies met painful death

129The persons who fell at Thy Feet,

130thou didst remove all their troubles.397.

131Those who meditate even on the Supreme Destroyer,

132death cannot approach them.

133They remain protected at all times

134Their enemies and troubles come to and end instantly.398.

135Upon whomsoever Thou dost cast Thy favourable glance,

136they are absolved of sins instantly

137They have all the worldly and spiritual pleasures in their homes

138None of their enemies can even touch their shadow.399.

139He, who remembered Thee even once,

140thou didst protect him from the noose of death

141Those persons, who repeated Thy Name,

142they were saved from poverty and attacks of enemies.400.

143O Immortal Being (with the sword on Your banner)! I am under Your protection.

144Give me Your hand and save me.

145Stand by me everywhere,

146and guard me against enmity and pain. 401.

147The Mother of the world has been kind towards me

148and I have completed the book this auspicious night

149The Lord is the destroyer of all the sins of the body

150and all the malicious and wicked persons.402.

151When Mahakal became kind,

152he immediately caused me to complete this book

153He will obtain the fruit desired by the mind (who will read or listen to this book)

154and no suffering will occur to him.403.

155ARRIL

156The dumb, who will listen to it, will be blessed with the tongue to speak

157The fool, who will listen to it attentively, will get wisdom

158That person will be absolved of suffering, pain or fear,

159Who will even once recite this Chaupai-prayer.404.

167O God! the day when I caught hold of your feet, I do not bring anyone else under my sight

168None other is liked by me now the Puranas and the Quran try to know Thee by the names of Ram and Rahim and talk about you through several stories,

169The Simritis, Shastras and Vedas describe several mysteries of yours, but I do not agree with any of them.

170O sword-wielder God! This all has been described by Thy Grace, what power can I have to write all this?.863.

172O Lord! I have forsaken all other doors and have caught hold of only Thy door. O Lord! Thou has caught hold of my arm

173I, Govind, am Thy serf, kindly take (care of me and) protect my honour.864.
